Dear Families,

Message from the Director
The creation of the Learning Tree of Madison is a life long dream come true for me. Owning and operating a preschool and daycare center has been something I have always wanted to do. I set out to create a center that is a warm, loving, intimate space where children are cared for and nurtured as I would care for my own children. Here at the Learning Tree of Madison we strive to support the whole family and we aim to be an extension of your family and offer a home away from home for the children. I know first hand how difficult it is to leave children in care outside the home. I understand the stress of balancing work, home, and child-care issues. We here at the center work with the entire family to help reduce parents' stress and maintain open and on-going communication with families. We want families to feel part of the center and the activities even when they are unable to be present and experience it first hand. Using several mediums of communication we aim to keep families informed on what their children are doing on a daily basis. The director, teachers and families communicate daily and pickup and drop off times provide an opportunity to share information about the child's day, interests, and activities. Staff schedules are structured in such a way that when parents pick up their children the staff present have been with the children for a good portion of your child's day. When this is not possible there is extensive staff communication and the staff will know details about how the child's day was.

I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut, School of Family Studies, earning a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Relations, specializing in early childhood education. I studied in the Child Development Labs at the University of Connecticut and worked as a preschool teacher in an early childhood setting. I have been designated Head Teacher by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. I also earned a Masters of Family Therapy degree from Southern Connecticut State University. I am a Reiki Healer, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a consultant for the Waterbury School System developing a pilot program for reading. I live in Killingworth with my husband Max and our two daughters, Kaitlyn and Emily and our dogs, cat, and fish.

As I mentioned earlier, opening a preschool and daycare center has been a life long dream for me and I am honored to care for and teach your children at these very tender ages. Please call, email or stop by for a tour and more information. I look forward to hearing from you.
